Gary Stocker started playing pickleball in 2010 when a younger brother introduced the game at a family reunion. His college in suburban St. Louis built 12 dedicated, lighted pickleball courts in 2020.
He believes colleges will start pickleball clubs as a vehicle to increase enrollment and will also develop innovative tools to include alumni in these club sports. He also believes that pickleball will establish its own collegiate association outside of the NCAA.
